Fish length–weight relationship

The statistical relationship between a fish’s body length and weight, commonly modeled as W = aLᵇ. The exponent b describes how weight scales with length, while the coefficient a depends on units and body shape.

Allometric scaling: The study of how biological traits scale with the size of an organism. Fish weight is an allometric trait whose scaling with length is summarized by b.
