Flores

Flores is an Indonesian island in the Lesser Sunda chain, between Sumbawa and Timor. It is known for volcanic landscapes, distinctive cultures, and the discovery of Homo floresiensis.

Kelimutu: A volcanic complex in central Flores with three crater lakes whose colors vary over time. Its changing crater lakes are among Flores’s best-known natural landmarks.
Lesser Sunda Islands: An Indonesian island chain extending east from Bali toward Timor. Flores is one of the chain’s major islands.
Manggarai people: An Indigenous people of western Flores, Indonesia. The Manggarai are one of Flores’s largest cultural communities.
