Foot fetishism
Foot fetishism is a sexual interest in feet, where feet or activities involving them can be a focus of attraction or arousal.
Sexual fetishism: Sexual interest centered on a particular object, body part, material, or activity. Foot fetishism is one specific form of sexual interest centered on a body part.
Sexual arousal: A physiological and psychological state of sexual excitement or readiness. Arousal is one possible response to feet, but not required to describe the interest.
Fetishistic disorder: A diagnosis involving recurrent, intense arousal from nonliving objects or specific body parts, with distress or impairment. An interest in feet alone does not establish this diagnosis.
Sex therapy: Psychotherapy that addresses sexual concerns, functioning, relationships, and wellbeing. It can help when foot-related interests cause distress or relationship conflict.
Paraphilia: A persistent, intense sexual interest outside typical interests, which is not necessarily a disorder. Clinical discussions distinguish an unusual interest from distress or impairment.
Sexual attraction: A disposition to experience sexual interest in another person or aspect of them. Attraction may focus on feet without defining attraction to people as a whole.
Sexual dysfunction: A persistent difficulty in sexual response or satisfaction that causes significant distress. A focused interest is not itself a difficulty with sexual functioning.
Sexual health: A state of physical, emotional, mental, and social wellbeing in relation to sexuality. Wellbeing, consent, and communication matter more than whether an interest is conventional.
Sexual orientation: A person's enduring pattern of romantic, emotional, or sexual attraction. An interest in feet describes a focus of arousal, not necessarily a person's broader orientation.
Consent: Freely given, informed, and ongoing agreement to participate in an activity. Any partnered foot-related activity depends on mutual agreement.
