France-Albert René

France-Albert René was a Seychellois politician who served as president of Seychelles from 1977 to 2004, after taking power in a 1977 coup.

1977 Seychelles coup d'état: The coup that overthrew Seychelles’ government in June 1977 and brought René to power. René led the coup that removed President James Mancham while he was abroad.
