Walter Baldwin Spencer : An English-born Australian biologist and anthropologist who collaborated with Gillen on studies of Aboriginal societies. Their fieldwork and publications made Gillen’s name widely known.
Alice Springs Telegraph Station : A former Overland Telegraph Line station established near Alice Springs in 1872. Gillen worked there for decades, gaining sustained contact with local Aboriginal communities.
