Frankincense

Frankincense is an aromatic gum resin tapped from Boswellia trees. It is burned as incense and used in perfumery, traditional medicine, and religious rituals.

Boswellia: A genus of trees and shrubs that produce aromatic resins, including frankincense. Frankincense comes from several Boswellia species, each with distinct resin characteristics.
Resin tapping: The practice of cutting or scoring a tree to collect its resin exudate. Frankincense harvesters make controlled incisions in Boswellia bark to stimulate resin flow.
