Frederic Leighton

Frederic Leighton (1830–1896) was an English painter and sculptor whose idealized classical subjects made him a leading Victorian artist and president of the Royal Academy.

Flaming June: An 1895 painting by Frederic Leighton depicting a sleeping woman in a vivid orange dress. Its reclining figure and luminous color became the most recognizable expression of his late style.
