Free City of Danzig

The Free City of Danzig was a semi-autonomous city-state established under League of Nations protection from 1920 to 1939, separating Danzig from Germany while granting Poland specific rights.

Treaty of Versailles: The 1919 peace treaty that set terms for Germany after World War I. Its provisions detached Danzig from Germany and established the Free City.
