French feminism

French feminism is a diverse body of feminist thought and activism developed in France, addressing gender, sexuality, and social power through political, philosophical, and literary work.

Simone de Beauvoir: A French existentialist philosopher and writer whose work examined women’s social position and freedom. Her analysis of woman as socially made became a foundational reference for French feminist thought.
