French India

French India was a group of French possessions on the Indian subcontinent, including Pondicherry, Chandernagore, Karaikal, Mahé, and Yanaon. France governed them until their integration into India.

French East India Company: A French chartered company founded in 1664 to pursue trade and colonial expansion in Asia. It established the commercial framework for France’s presence in India.
