Gaspar Corte-Real

Gaspar Corte-Real was a Portuguese explorer who led voyages to Newfoundland and Labrador around 1500. He disappeared during an expedition in 1501.

Labrador: A mainland region of eastern Canada bordering the Labrador Sea and the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Corte-Real’s expeditions are associated with exploration of this mainland coast.
