Gelatine dessert

A sweet dish in which dissolved gelatine sets a flavored liquid into a soft, elastic gel. It is often served with fruit, cream, or layered ingredients.

Gelation: The formation of a continuous network that turns a liquid into a gel. Gelatine dessert is an edible example of gelation.
Gelatine powder: Dried gelatine sold as granules or powder for dissolving in liquid. It is a common form used to make home gelatine desserts.

Thermoreversible gel: A gel that can melt when heated and set again when cooled. Gelatine dessert softens with warmth and can set again after cooling.
Blooming (gelatine preparation): Softening dried gelatine in cool liquid before dissolving it into a recipe. Blooming helps prevent dry clumps in the finished dessert.
