Giacomo della Porta

Giacomo della Porta (c. 1532–1602) was an Italian architect and sculptor whose work helped shape late Renaissance architecture in Rome, notably the façades of Il Gesù and St. Peter’s Basilica.

Il Gesù: A Jesuit church in Rome whose design became a model for Counter-Reformation church architecture. Della Porta completed its façade and helped give the church its influential Roman form.
