Godfrey of Bouillon

Godfrey of Bouillon was a Frankish nobleman and one of the principal leaders of the First Crusade. After Jerusalem fell in 1099, he ruled the city and its surrounding territory as Advocate of the Holy Sepulchre.

Baldwin I of Jerusalem: Godfrey’s younger brother, who succeeded him as ruler of Jerusalem and adopted the title king. His succession turned Godfrey’s brief rule into a hereditary monarchy.
