Goma

Goma is a city in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, on the northern shore of Lake Kivu near the Rwandan border. It is a regional hub shaped by volcanic hazards, conflict, and cross-border trade.

Mount Nyiragongo: An active stratovolcano in the Virunga Mountains, north of Goma. Its lava flows have reached Goma, including during the 2002 and 2021 eruptions.
