Government of France

The Government of France is the national executive authority, led by the prime minister and composed of ministers. It implements laws and directs public policy under the Fifth Republic.

Prime Minister of France: The head of the French Government, responsible for directing its actions and ensuring laws are executed. The prime minister leads the Government and coordinates its policy.
French minister: A member of the French Government appointed to lead a ministry or portfolio. Ministers direct policy areas and participate in collective government decisions.
Fifth French Republic: The French republican regime established in 1958 and governed under the Constitution of the Fifth Republic. The Government’s current institutional form belongs to this constitutional regime.
