Grand Duchy of Lithuania

A medieval and early modern European state that expanded across much of eastern Europe, centered first in Lithuania and later linked with Poland in a shared monarchy.

Mindaugas: The first and only crowned king of Lithuania, who converted to Christianity and was crowned in 1253. His consolidation of Lithuanian lands and coronation mark the duchy's early formation.
