Grazia Deledda

Grazia Deledda (1871–1936) was an Italian novelist and short-story writer from Sardinia. Her fiction drew on Sardinian life and earned her the 1926 Nobel Prize in Literature.

Sardinia: A large Mediterranean island and autonomous region of Italy, with a distinct language and cultural history. Its landscapes, customs, and communities provide the setting for much of Deledda’s fiction.
