Voyager 2 : A NASA spacecraft launched in 1977 that flew past Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. Its 1989 Neptune flyby supplied the images that first revealed the Great Dark Spot.
Great Red Spot : A persistent anticyclonic storm in Jupiter’s atmosphere, observed for at least several centuries. It resembles the Great Dark Spot in scale and circulation but has persisted far longer.
