Grossglockner

Grossglockner is a 3,798-metre peak in Austria’s Hohe Tauern range, the country’s highest mountain. Its summit rises above the Pasterze Glacier and is commonly approached via the Stüdlgrat or the normal route.

Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe: A visitor viewpoint on the Grossglockner High Alpine Road overlooking the Pasterze Glacier. It brings large numbers of visitors close to views of Grossglockner and its glacier.
Pasterze Glacier: Austria’s largest glacier, lying on the eastern side of the Grossglockner massif. Its icefield stretches below Grossglockner and gives the mountain much of its glaciated character.
Erzherzog-Johann-Hütte: A mountain hut at 3,454 metres on the Adlersruhe ridge of Grossglockner. The hut provides a high starting point for the normal summit route.
