GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research

GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research is a German research center in Darmstadt that studies heavy-ion physics and produces exotic nuclei using particle accelerators.

UNILAC: The Universal Linear Accelerator at GSI, which accelerates ions before they enter the synchrotron. It provides the initial acceleration stage for many GSI experiments and accelerator operations.
