Guangzhou

Guangzhou is the capital of Guangdong province in southern China and a major port on the Pearl River. It is one of China’s largest cities and a historic center of trade.

Nanyue: Nanyue was a kingdom in southern China that existed from 204 to 111 BCE. Its capital, Panyu, occupied the site of present-day Guangzhou.
Pearl River: The Pearl River is a major river system in southern China that flows into the South China Sea. Its waterways have linked Guangzhou to inland Guangdong and coastal trade.
Canton Fair: The Canton Fair is a major Chinese import and export trade fair held in Guangzhou since 1957. It continues the city’s long role as a meeting point for international commerce.

Guangzhou Automobile Industry: Guangzhou’s automobile industry is a major manufacturing sector centered on vehicle assembly and automotive supply chains. The city’s industrial economy extends beyond its traditional port and trade activity.
Macau: Macau is a special administrative region of China on the western side of the Pearl River Delta. Its compact former Portuguese-administered urban center contrasts with Guangzhou’s scale and provincial-capital role.
Thirteen Factories: The Thirteen Factories were foreign trading quarters in Guangzhou used during the Canton System. They concentrated much of China’s permitted Western trade in the city.
Port of Guangzhou: The Port of Guangzhou is a major seaport serving Guangzhou and the surrounding Pearl River Delta. Its terminals handle the city’s maritime freight and connect it with international shipping.
