Guillermo Prieto

Guillermo Prieto (1818–1897) was a Mexican poet, journalist, memoirist, and politician whose patriotic writing and public service helped shape nineteenth-century national identity.

Benito Juárez: A Mexican lawyer and statesman who served as president during the Reform War and French intervention. Prieto supported Juárez’s liberal government and served in public office during its struggles.
