Gustav Klimt

Gustav Klimt (1862–1918) was an Austrian painter and leading figure of the Vienna Secession, known for ornate portraits and symbolic works such as The Kiss.

The Kiss (Klimt): An oil painting by Gustav Klimt, made around 1907–1908, depicting an embracing couple within a field of gold ornament. Its gilded surface and intimate embrace epitomize Klimt’s public image.
