Handan

Handan is a prefecture-level city in southern Hebei, China. It was a major center of the ancient Zhao state and has more than 3,000 years of recorded history.

Zhao state: A major state of the Zhou dynasty period, centered in what is now northern China. Handan became Zhao’s capital and one of the Warring States’ major political centers.
Wahuang Palace: A temple complex in She County, Hebei, dedicated to the Chinese creator goddess Nüwa. This major heritage site lies within Handan’s present-day administrative area.
Hebei: A province in northern China surrounding Beijing and Tianjin. Handan is Hebei’s southernmost prefecture-level city.
