Hanif

A hanif is a person devoted to pure monotheism, especially in Islamic accounts of pre-Islamic Arabia, where the tradition is associated with Abraham.

Tawhid: The Islamic doctrine of God's absolute oneness and uniqueness. Hanif identity centers on devotion to the oneness later articulated as Islam's defining doctrine.
Quran: The sacred scripture of Islam, understood by Muslims as God's revelation to Muhammad. The Quran repeatedly describes Abraham as hanif and gives the term its central Islamic framing.
