Happening

A happening is an event-based artwork combining performance, visual art, and ordinary actions, often with an open structure that allows events to unfold unpredictably.

Audience participation: An artistic practice in which audiences contribute actions, decisions, or materials to a work. Participants can become part of the event rather than remain spectators.
Allan Kaprow: An American artist who developed the happening and theorized its relationship to everyday life. Kaprow named the form and staged influential early examples.
