Harvey Kurtzman

Harvey Kurtzman (1924–1993) was an American cartoonist, writer, and editor whose work at Mad magazine transformed comic-book satire and influenced generations of cartoonists.

William Gaines: William Gaines was an American comic-book publisher who led EC Comics and later co-founded Mad as a magazine. As EC’s publisher, he gave Kurtzman editorial freedom and backed Mad’s launch.
Mad (magazine): Mad is an American humor magazine launched as a comic book in 1952 and later known for parody and satire. Kurtzman created its format and edited its first 28 comic-book issues.
