Hasan ibn Ali

Hasan ibn Ali (c. 625–670) was the elder son of Ali and Fatimah, a grandson of Muhammad, and the second Imam in Twelver and Ismaili Shia Islam. He briefly led the Muslim community before making a treaty with Muawiya.

Ali: Ali ibn Abi Talib was Muhammad’s cousin and son-in-law, the fourth caliph, and the first Imam in Shia Islam. Hasan’s father, whose succession to Muhammad became central to Shia claims.
