Heinrich Himmler

Heinrich Himmler was a leading Nazi official who commanded the SS and directed German police and security agencies. He was a central organizer of the Holocaust and other Nazi mass crimes.

Schutzstaffel: The Nazi organization that grew from Hitler’s bodyguard into a powerful institution controlling security, policing, and concentration camps. Himmler transformed the SS into the principal instrument of his power.
