Henri de Saint-Simon

Henri de Saint-Simon (1760–1825) was a French social theorist who argued that society should be organized around productive work and scientific knowledge. His ideas influenced socialism and positivism.

Industrial society: A society whose economy and social organization are shaped chiefly by large-scale industry. Saint-Simon treated industrial production as the foundation for reorganizing society.
