Henrik Pontoppidan

Henrik Pontoppidan (1857–1943) was a Danish novelist and short-story writer whose realist fiction examined social change, religion, and individual freedom. He shared the 1917 Nobel Prize in Literature with Karl Adolph Gjellerup.
