Henry the Fowler

Henry the Fowler was king of East Francia from 919 to 936 and founder of the Ottonian dynasty. He strengthened royal authority while preserving the power of the German duchies.

Ottonian dynasty: A dynasty that ruled East Francia and the Holy Roman Empire from 919 to 1024. Henry founded the dynasty that his son Otto I carried to imperial power.
