Hindu Mahasabha

The Hindu Mahasabha is an Indian Hindu nationalist political organization founded in the early twentieth century. It advocated Hindu political unity and played a role in the politics of British India and independent India.

All-India Muslim League: A political organization founded in 1906 to protect and advance the interests of Muslims in British India. Its demand for distinct Muslim political representation formed a key backdrop to Hindu Mahasabha organizing.
Vinayak Damodar Savarkar: An Indian independence activist and political thinker who formulated the ideology of Hindutva. As Mahasabha president, he promoted Hindutva and a program of Hindu political consolidation.
