History of Malaysia

The history of Malaysia traces the peoples, societies, and political entities of the Malay Peninsula and Borneo, including the formation of the modern federation.

Kedah Sultanate: A Malay sultanate centered in northwestern Malaya, traditionally dated to the medieval period and continuing into the modern era. Its long continuity links early regional statehood with the later Malay sultanates.
British Malaya: The British-controlled territories of the Malay Peninsula, including the Straits Settlements and the Malay states. British administration reorganized territory and labor before independence.
