Frequency-division multiple access: A radio access method that gives each communication a separate frequency channel. First-generation cellular systems assigned calls analog frequency channels.

BlackBerry: A line of mobile devices known for secure email, physical keyboards, and enterprise services. BlackBerry’s email-centered design competed with the touch-screen smartphone model.
Digital divide: Unequal access to digital technologies, connectivity, and the skills to use them. Uneven phone ownership, coverage, and data affordability preserve gaps in digital participation.
