Homo rhodesiensis

Homo rhodesiensis is a proposed archaic human taxon for some Middle Pleistocene African fossils, including the Kabwe skull. Its validity and relationship to other human taxa remain disputed.

Kabwe skull: A Middle Pleistocene fossil cranium discovered in 1921 at Broken Hill, now Kabwe, Zambia. This nearly complete cranium became the type specimen for Homo rhodesiensis.
Homo heidelbergensis: A proposed human species associated with Middle Pleistocene fossils from Africa and Eurasia. Some classifications use this name for fossils assigned elsewhere to Homo rhodesiensis.
Arthur Smith Woodward: A British paleontologist who worked at the Natural History Museum in London. He established the species name Rhodesian man from the Kabwe skull in 1921.
