Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge

A 55-kilometer bridge-and-tunnel system linking Hong Kong, Zhuhai, and Macau across the Pearl River estuary. Its offshore route includes an immersed tunnel and artificial islands.

Immersed tube tunnel: A tunnel formed by sinking prefabricated sections into a prepared underwater trench and joining them. This construction method carries the route beneath the estuary’s main shipping lanes.
