Honorius

Honorius was Western Roman emperor from 395 to 423, during the weakening of imperial authority in the West and the sack of Rome in 410.

Theodosius I: Theodosius I was Roman emperor from 379 to 395 and the father of Honorius. His death in 395 left Honorius the western half of the empire.
Siege of Rome (408–410): The siege of Rome from 408 to 410 was a series of blockades by Alaric's forces. Honorius failed to reach an agreement that could prevent Alaric's final assault.
Alaric I: Alaric I was a Visigothic leader who fought the Roman Empire and sacked Rome in 410. His invasions exposed the limits of Honorius's military response.
Valentinian III: Valentinian III was Western Roman emperor from 425 to 455 and the son of Galla Placidia. Honorius's death without a surviving son led to Valentinian's eventual accession.
Arcadius: Arcadius was Eastern Roman emperor from 395 to 408 and Honorius's elder brother. The succession assigned the eastern empire to Arcadius and the western empire to Honorius.
Sack of Rome (410): The sack of Rome in 410 was a three-day plunder of the city by Visigothic forces under Alaric. It became the most famous catastrophe of Honorius's reign.
Constantius III: Constantius III was a Roman general who restored imperial control in parts of the West and became co-emperor in 421. He became the strongest military figure at court after Stilicho's execution.
Fall of the Western Roman Empire: The fall of the Western Roman Empire was the gradual loss of imperial rule in the West, conventionally dated to 476. Territorial losses and weakened central authority during Honorius's reign formed part of this longer decline.
Stilicho: Stilicho was a Roman general and statesman who wielded power as guardian of Honorius. Theodosius entrusted him with protecting the young emperor and both imperial courts.
Battle of Pollentia: The Battle of Pollentia was fought in 402 between Roman forces led by Stilicho and Visigoths led by Alaric. Stilicho's victory briefly checked the Visigothic invasion during Honorius's early reign.
