House music

House music is an electronic dance-music genre that emerged in Chicago in the early 1980s. It is characterized by a steady four-on-the-floor beat, repetitive grooves, and electronic production.

Four-on-the-floor: A steady beat pattern with a bass drum on every quarter note. Its regular kick-drum pulse is house music’s rhythmic foundation.
