House of Bourbon

The House of Bourbon is a European royal dynasty descended from Robert, Count of Clermont, a son of King Louis IX of France. Its branches ruled France, Spain, and several other states.

Capetian dynasty: A French royal dynasty that ruled from 987 to 1328 and founded several later European royal houses. The Bourbons are a cadet branch of this dynasty.
Louis XIV: King of France from 1643 to 1715, whose long reign established an enduring model of royal absolutism. His reign became the most powerful expression of Bourbon monarchy in France.
