Hubert Ogunde

Hubert Ogunde (1916–1990) was a Nigerian actor, playwright, musician, and theatre director who pioneered modern Yoruba travelling theatre.

Yoruba travelling theatre: A popular Nigerian theatre tradition in which companies toured with performances rooted in Yoruba language and culture. Ogunde helped establish the modern form through a professional company that toured widely.
