Hukbalahap Rebellion

An armed uprising in the Philippines from 1946 to 1954, led by the Hukbalahap movement against the postwar government. It grew from wartime resistance, agrarian grievances, and political exclusion.

Hukbalahap: A Philippine guerrilla movement formed during World War II to resist Japanese occupation, later becoming a postwar insurgency. The rebellion was fought by this movement, whose wartime origins informed its postwar aims.
Philippine Army: The ground forces of the armed services of the Philippines. Its campaigns against Huk units formed the government’s main military response.
