Hurrian songs

Hurrian songs are compositions in the Hurrian language, preserved chiefly in cuneiform musical texts from Ugarit. The best-known is a hymn to the goddess Nikkal.

Hurrian language: An ancient language spoken by the Hurrians, attested in texts from the third and second millennia BCE. The songs’ lyrics are written in this language.
Hurrian Hymn to Nikkal: A Hurrian-language hymn on a cuneiform tablet from Ugarit, accompanied by instructions for lyre performance. It is the most extensively preserved and studied composition in the corpus.
