IBM Research

IBM Research is the research organization of International Business Machines, with laboratories that develop computing technologies and conduct research across scientific fields.

Relational database: A database model that organizes information into tables linked by shared attributes and queried with formal operations. IBM researchers developed System R, a foundational implementation of the relational database model.
