Imhotep

Imhotep was an Egyptian high official and architect associated with the Step Pyramid of Djoser at Saqqara, built during the Third Dynasty. Later tradition also revered him as a sage and deity.

Third Dynasty of Egypt: A period of ancient Egyptian history, conventionally dated to the twenty-seventh century BCE. Imhotep served under Djoser, a ruler of this dynasty.
Step Pyramid of Djoser: A six-tiered stone pyramid at Saqqara built as the tomb of King Djoser. It is the architectural work most closely associated with Imhotep.
Seated statue of Djoser: A statue of Djoser bearing an inscription that names Imhotep among the king’s officials. It provides early archaeological evidence for Imhotep’s name and high status.
