Indonesian archipelago

The island chain between mainland Southeast Asia and Australia that forms the geographic core of Indonesia, spanning the Indian and Pacific oceans.

Sumatra: A large Indonesian island west of the Malay Peninsula, crossed by the equator. Its position anchors the archipelago’s western edge along the Indian Ocean.
