International Paralympic Committee

The International Paralympic Committee is the global governing body of the Paralympic Movement. It oversees the Paralympic Games and coordinates international sport for athletes with disabilities.

Paralympic classification: A system that groups athletes according to how eligible impairments affect performance in a particular sport. The committee sets the framework that makes competition between athletes with different impairments equitable.
