Invasion of Grenada

The United States-led military intervention in Grenada from October 25 to December 15, 1983, overthrew the revolutionary government and installed an interim administration before elections restored constitutional rule.

Operation Urgent Fury: The October–December 1983 United States-led military operation in Grenada. This was the intervention’s official operational name.
Grenadian Revolution: The 1979 overthrow of Grenada’s government and the subsequent rule of the People’s Revolutionary Government. The revolutionary government targeted in 1983 emerged from this upheaval.
