Ion Luca Caragiale

Ion Luca Caragiale (1852–1912) was a Romanian playwright, short-story writer, and journalist whose satire exposed the absurdities of politics and social life. His best-known play is the comedy A Lost Letter.

A Lost Letter: A comedy by Caragiale in which a stolen love letter becomes leverage in a local election. This signature play compresses his satire of electoral politics into a single blackmail plot.
